Prosecutor of Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia
Natiya Songulashvili

Due to the fact that in 2012 the Georgian parliament changed the legislation, the heaviest article, despite the number of accusations, absorbs the others. Earlier, terms were summarized, a person could be asked for 30 or 40 years of imprisonment, it turned out as a lifetime. After the liberalization of the legislation, the terms are not summarized. Now if a person has 3-4 accusations, there will only be one term. Thus, Mikheil Saakashvili faces 11 years of imprisonment if the court passes a guilty verdict.
